The MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology through its Gender and Development Center is one with the world in celebrating March as Women’s Month.
It has since served as a venue to highlight women’s achievements and discuss continuing and emerging women’s empowerment and gender equality issues and concerns, challenges, and commitments. The celebration focuses on concrete activities that are aligned with national and international instruments and treaties such as the 1980 Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the 1995 Beijing Platform for Action, the Philippine Plan for Gender-Responsive Development (2023-2028), the Framework Plan for Women, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
This March, MSU-IIT stands in solidarity with the nation in celebrating National Women’s Month 2026 — a call for Women and Everyone (WE) to take part and take charge in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
With the sub-theme “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”, the Philippine Commission on Women reminds us that women’s leadership has long been embedded in our history — grounded in wisdom, empathy, and collective care.
As the Philippines continues to lead in gender parity in Asia, MSU-IIT reaffirms its commitment to fostering inclusive spaces where women lead, thrive, and influence the future.
Padayon. Lead like the Babaylans.
